There was a lot of information in chapter 2. Some of the information I had already read about before but some was new to me. Teaching children how to read is very difficult and not all children learn the same way. With my very young learners I can see the students who will have a harder time learning how to read. These students at a young age have a difficult time retaining information and have a hard time understanding the concepts of phonemic awareness. With teacher intervention and one on one time many of these students soon begin to understand certain concepts but there is always that one, (maybe even more), that just never got it and yet they must still Check Spellingenter kindergarten and their struggle will continue.

Chapter 1 reading assessment

As I was reading this chapter I found the situations that the four teachers were in very common among teachers that I know. They have to preform all sorts of assessments on students and really do nothing with the information they have found. I am a pre k teacher and even students at this age are given assessment that are suppose to help the teacher group the children into groups. This is sometimes a difficult task because when you first test a child that is 3 or 4 years old some don't realize what is going on so the test results may not be as accurate as we would like.
